Rapier Sword Italian Italy Antique Vintage Brass Grip Steel Engraved Blade

RAPIER SWORD ITALIAN ITALY ANTIQUE VINTAGE BRASS GRIP STEEL ENGRAVED BLADE. Rapier Sword Italian Italy Antique Vintage Brass Grip Steel Engraved BladeBlade is stamp marked on one side "MADE ITALY" near the guard. The hilt and guillon is solid cast brass with loop guard and knucklebow with cast loops built into the guard to capture and break your opponents's blade. Romanist embossed images adorn the handle and grip.

Blade is engraved on both sides with leafy acanthus scrolls. Handle is solid with a half tang mounting and not loose. No makers marks on the brass handle.

The double edges and the point are not sharp. Overall length of the sword is 40 1/2" the blade length is 34 1/4". Rapier is in very good condition, blade is pretty straight but not perfect, brass has a nice patina with the blade showing rust and patination.

Looks to be 19th century but not sure of age. I try to describe the items as best as I can.
