1830 EXCEPTIONALLY FINE AMERICAN BELT PIONEER/TRAPPER KNIFE W DECORATED BRASS BLADE-FERRULE. Horn grip is shaped at top like bird's head and two halves are held together by three, or possibly four small, handmade rivets. Centering a wrought iron tang. The hand made iron blade shows early file sharpening.

There are owner's initials crudely carved into one side of the grip appearing to be "I W" or "MI". Condition is excellent with aging to both the blade and grip as expected, including extremely. Minor surface loss to the grip where the initials were carved and one rivet was hammered.
